Masters in Business Administration

Masters in Business Administration

Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is something that I am so happy to have obtained in my goal of being a lifelong learner. I had a lot of trials and tribulations along the road of getting my business degree. As I approached the end of my bachelor’s degree pursuit, I knew that I wanted to continue my education. At the time, I was in the second semester of my student teaching internship at an East Texas middle school. My Bachelors of Science degree is in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis in science. So for those of you who think you need to get your bachelors in business administration or a business degree in order to move forward with getting a Masters in Business Administration, you do not need to go down that path of education. Depending on what your bachelors is in, you may need to take some prerequisite courses like I did in order for the College of Business to feel you are better equipped to handle getting your Masters in Business Administration. When I applied for business school, I went against tradition and continued on at Texas A&M University-Commerce. This is against tradition, because everyone tells you (or at least told me) that you need to obtain your Masters in Business Administration at a different college so that you are more well-rounded in your education. I choose to go to the same college for both my Bachelors of Science and Masters in Business Administration Degrees for convenience, costs, and that fact that I knew getting an MBA there was a great move. I did not take this decision lightly. I spoke with every college of business adviser, my future professors, and current students that were getting their MBA.

One of the most beneficial things about our times is the availability of getting an online business degree or an online Masters in Business Administration. When I moved into the realm of getting an MBA, I found most of my courses online. If you are like myself, I like to have the option of my management courses being offered online and in class. All of the classes were at night if they were being taught by a live professor and there were also weekend classes. At the beginning of my path to getting an MBA, I was able to do a mix of both courses online and classroom classes. Then I moved into only enrolling into online Masters in Business Administration courses.
